Other Important information: Colorado requires drivers, front-seat passengers, children between 4 and 15, as well as occupants of a vehicle driven by persons under 17, to wear seat belts. Children under 4 who weigh 40 pounds or more must also wear seat belts. Children under 4 who weigh under 40 pounds must sit in approved safety seats.

Emissions testing is required when registering or selling vehicles in the counties of Denver, Boulder, Jefferson, Douglas, and in partial areas of Adams and Arapahoe counties.
